Preliminary Information Systems Assessment

[UW Information Systems and Technology]

An initial assessment of the Business 1999 issues related to our information systems in general, as well as a more in-depth assessment of our legacy VM/VS1 technical environment and applications, began in the summer of 1996 and was completed in mid-September, 1996. The results of this assessment have been compiled and summarized to form the foundation for the Business 1999 IST Report, to be presented to the University's Executive Council on September 25, 1996. Subsequent to discussions at Exec. Council, the effort to establish a supportable, manageable plan to meet the Business 1999 objectives, will get underway. The full plan detailing the strategies to be followed will be available by the end of December 1996.
