Bank payment is the most secure, efficient and cost-effective way to pay your fees. To pay your fees at a Canadian bank or via online or telephone banking, set up the University of Waterloo as a “bill payment” and use your student ID # as the “account number”. Bank payments take 2 - 4 days to appear on student accounts.
Payment may also be made by certified cheque, money order or bank draft payable to University of Waterloo, provided it is drawn on a North American bank. The University of Waterloo can't accept payments by international draft or money order from a bank outside of North America. Please include your student number and name on the certified cheque/money order/bank draft.
Payments can be submitted in person to our drop box or sent to:
Finance - Student Accounts, Room 1110, Needles Hall
University of Waterloo
200 University Avenue West
Waterloo, ON N2L 3G1 Canada
To pay your fees from outside Canada, please see instructions on our website.
The University does not accept payment of student account fees via personal cheque, cash, e-mail transfer, international bank draft from outside North American, debit or credit card.
You "arrange your fees" for the term by covering the entire balance of fees charged to your student account with payment &/or a Promissory Note indicating financial aid available to you for the term.
If you have:
- uWaterloo scholarships,
- external scholarships payable to University of Waterloo

which you wish to deduct from the balance payable to the University of Waterloo as indicated on your Quest student account, you MUST submit a Promissory Note along with proof of the financial aid, by the Promissory Note due date. Please see the Promissory Note form for a description of proof required.
Please visit the Schedule of Due Dates and Late Fees on our website.
As soon as the loan funding is received in your personal bank account, you must pay the University immediately.
If you will not have your OSAP assessment by the Promissory Note due date, you have two choices, you may use your OSAP estimate. Please bear in mind that if the estimate is for funding for two terms, you may claim 60% for the first term and 40% for the second term in that academic year. If you do not have either an OSAP assessment or OSAP estimate, you have two options:
