OPTING OUT OF SUPPLEMENTARY HEALTH & DENTAL COVERAGE
- Charges for Supplementary Health & Dental coverage are included in the bundled fee indicated as "FedofStdnts Administered Fees" (Undergraduate students) or "GSA Administered Fees" (Graduate students.)
- Supplementary Health Plan - students may opt-out annually during the first month of Fall term, with acceptable proof of equivalent coverage, by following the on-screen instructions at www.ihaveaplan.ca . Winter term students who were not on academic term in the Fall may opt out during the first month of the Winter term. This coverage is supplementary to either a Canadian provincial health plan or UHIP. Please see the exact opt-out dates on www.ihaveaplan.ca.
- Supplementary Dental Plan – students may opt-out annually during the first month of Fall term by following the on-screen instructions at www.ihaveaplan.ca ; Winter term students who were not on academic term in the Fall may opt out during the first month of the Winter term. Please see the exact opt-out dates on www.ihaveaplan.ca.
- Students who have successfully opted out of the above coverages will receive refund cheques directly from studentcare during the third month of each term.

REFUNDS FOR SCHOLARSHIPS, BURSARIES & AWARDS
- Scholarship, bursary and award amounts indicated as “Anticipated Aid” on undergraduate student Quest accounts will be applied to your student account balance during the second month of term, provided your registered status is "Fees Arranged."
Scholarships, bursaries and awards indicated as “Anticipated Aid” on graduate student Quest accounts will be applied to your student account balance during the first week of classes, provided your registered status is "Fees Arranged."
- If you paid the full amount of charges to your student account for the term, any scholarships, bursaries or awards applied to your student account will create a credit balance.
- Credit balances created by the posting of scholarships, bursaries and awards will generate a refund during the week following the posting date, as follows:
Undergraduates: A cheque will be sent to the mailing address you have on Quest, provided it's an address in Canada or the United States. If your mailing address isn't in Canada or the US, a No Refund hold will be placed on your account and you'll need to contact our office to arrange your refund.
Graduates: If the University Human Resources department has your banking information, you'll receive your refunds deposited directly to your personal bank account. Otherwise, you'll receive a cheque at the mailing address you have on Quest provided it's an address in Canada or the United States. If your mailing address isn't in Canada or the US, a No Refund hold will be placed on your account and you'll need to contact our office to arrange your refund.

REFUNDS OF CREDIT BALANCES ON STUDENT ACCOUNTS
- Changes to course load, program, residence status and other adjustments may result in a credit balance on your student account.
- Credit balances remaining on Undergraduate student accounts are refunded by cheque to your current mailing address on Quest in the third month of term during our batch refunding process, provided it's an address in Canada or the United States. If your mailing address isn't in Canada or the US, we'll hold your refund amount until you contact our office to arrange your refund.
- Credit balances remaining on Graduate student accounts are refunded in the third month of term. If the University Human Resources department has your banking information, you'll receive your refunds deposited directly to your personal bank account. A remittance advice is then mailed to your mailing address on Quest. Otherwise, you'll receive a cheque at the mailing address you have on Quest provided it's an address in Canada or the United States. If your mailing address isn't in Canada or the US, a No Refund hold will be placed on your account and you'll need to contact our office to arrange your refund.
- If you have outstanding OSAP loans, some or all of the credit balance remaining on your student account will be refunded first to the National Student Loan Centre to be applied against your outstanding provincial student loan balance. Any remaining credit balance will then be refunded to you as described above.

WITHDRAWING FROM COURSES

- Any credit balance remaining on your student account as a result of withdrawing from a course or from the entire term, will be refunded as indicated under "REFUNDS OF CREDIT BALANCES ON STUDENT ACCOUNTS" above.
