Native Studies

St. Paul’s is home to University of Waterloo’s Aboriginal Services. Part of the vision for these services is to enhance awareness of Aboriginal perspectives and issues in the broader community.

St. Paul’s course in Issues in Contemporary Native Communities in Canada
(Anthropology ANTH 370) provides undergraduate students with an understanding of current Aboriginal issues from the perspective of First Nation, Métis and Inuit peoples.

The course explores selected aspects of the contemporary native experience as defined by the local native community. Specially selected guest lecturers from the native community provide a first-hand perspective on the issues.
