What are Living-Learning Communities?

Living-Learning Communities are small groups of students from the same faculty or program that live together in the same area of residence.

In the Environment community, you:

  • live with other students in the Faculty of Environment
  • get to know senior Environment students and professors outside the classroom
  • have access to special academic sessions provided by the Environment faculty
  • can participate in projects that help better the campus and local community

As a resident at St. Paul's, you'll:

  • have fun -- you can participate in all regular residence activities as well as the unique programs for Environment students
  • be part of a small, friendly residence community with students from all years and all uWaterloo programs
  • make it to class in the Environment buildings in three minutes or less!

Why be involved?

  • Build relationships that will help you at university, in your career, and in your life.
  • Make a difference. Participate in activities and events that help you learn more about your field of study but help others too.
  • Succeed in your studies. Enhance your general knowledge and experience in issues related to environmental studies.
  • Learn from peers who offer different perspectives - on the environment and the world.

Who can be involved?

The Environment Living-Learning Community is open to any first-year student in the Faculty of Environment.

Upper-year students can apply to be a peer leader for the community.

Can you be involved even if you're not living at St. Paul's?

Many of the activities and programs will be open to any Environment student, even if you don't live at St. Paul's.

Can you be involved even if you're not in the Faculty of Environment?

You can still live at St. Paul's and attend many of the events.
