The number of micro-commuters given at the bottom of the table is arrived at by counting the number of micro-commuters found in the parking lots audited. Then, the number of micro-commuters found in non-clustered lots was subtracted from the total. The new total was then multiplied by four to represent the total number of micro-commuters found in each clustered lot. Then, the number of micro-commuters found in non clustered lots was added to the number of micro-commuters found in clustered lots multiplied by four. That is the grand total number of micro-commuters found for that day. The reason the non-clustered lots are subtracted is so that they are not multiplied by four. This is because the entire lot was audited and the number, if multiplied by four, would incorrectly influence our data by inflating the number of micro-commuters found.
For this time period, one can see that there was 55 micro-commuters and there was 2740 cars parked.
