Abstract

This group implemented the use of reusable totes to transport bagels from the supplier to the food outlets on campus. (Prior to this plastic bags and boxes were used.) The system turned out to work very well with projected cost savings of $3000 per year.

This project also attracted much attention with its potential for savings with other products and its introduction of a true "marriage" between supplier and customer in saving costs.
